Wellington, Florida – Lucy Deslauriers claimed a $1,000 bonus for wearing SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves on her way to victory in the $10,000 Sleepy P Ranch High Junior Jumper Classic on Sunday, March 1, during week eight of the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL. Running throughout the 12-week Winter Equestrian Festival, the SSG Gloves “Go Clean for the Green” promotion rewards riders for their loyalty to the Canadian brand in the Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup, the High Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, and the Sleepy P Ranch High Junior Jumper Classic.

Ireland’s Alan Wade set the track in the DeNemethy Ring for Sunday morning’s $10,000 High Amateur-Owner Classic, which attracted 24 entries. Ten of those would go clear to qualify for the jump-off. Returning ninth in the jump-off order, Deslauriers moved into the lead after posting a time of 36.33 seconds that would ultimately prove unbeatable. Her winning mount was Hester, a 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding owned by her mother, Lisa Deslauriers.

“He has really been great, he is ten this year and I’ve been riding him since he was eight,” said Deslauriers, 15, of New York, NY. “We have a good partnership, and he’s just been amazing. He is willing to do whatever I ask of him. I knew going into the jump-off that I could really push him and he would try to pull it out for me.”

As Deslauriers was wearing SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves on her way to victory, she was awarded a $1,000 bonus as part of the SSG Gloves “Go Clean for the Green” promotion.

“I always wear them just to make sure I don’t lose them!” laughed Deslauriers. “They are really great gloves. They are cool and effective. They look nice, and are easy to wear in both the equitation and the jumpers. I really enjoy them.

“It is great to have a sponsor that supports our riding and supports a competition like this,” added Deslauriers.

SSG Gloves will continue to offer a $3,000 bonus in each of the weekly Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Series events, as well as a $1,000 bonus in the High Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic and the Sleepy P Ranch High Junior Jumper Classic competitions. If the winning rider in any of these three competitions is wearing SSG ‘Digital’ style gloves with the SSG horse head logo clearly visible, they will be presented with the SSG Gloves bonus during the awards presentation. A total of $60,000 in bonus money is on offer from SSG Gloves at the 2015 Winter Equestrian Festival.

SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves are available for purchase at numerous Wellington locations including Tackeria and Dover Saddlery, as well as on-site at the Winter Equestrian Festival show grounds at various retailers including Running Fox and Hadfield’s Saddlery.
