International Bromont 2012: kick-off of the second week of competition

Bromont, July 25, 2012 – Riders participating in the International Bromont only had  a short respite, on July 23 and 24, 2012. In fact, July 25 marked the return to competition for the final week of International Bromont, where close to 600 riders are getting ready to stride on the Olympic site in the Eastern Townships.

Let’s get moving!
The last week of International Bromont will give visitors the opportunity to appreciate the skills of registered riders in both Hunter and Jumper divisions.  On the Hunter side, riders will face off on Sunday July 29 in one of three Medal classes: the Aubert Brillant, François Ferland and Jump Canada, in addition to the Hunter Classic, which include all non-professional divisions. Moreover, the Hunter Derby, a much-anticipated new event, will take place on Saturday July 29, in the main competition ring.

On the Jumper side, Friday July 27 promises fans a fabulous afternoon with the FEI (Fédération Équestre Internationale) 1m50 Open Jumper class at 3h30 followed by the Canadian Equestrian Team Medal class, presented by Burkman Capital. Saturday July 28 will also be an opportunity to see the most accomplished riders of the International Bromont as they compete in the Modified Grand Prix, where rider Mario Deslauriers has taken 1st place, to the crowd’s and equestrian fans’ delight. Will he repeat this in 2012? The International Bromont will close with the Royal Canin Challenge and the highly popular Grand Prix, offering $ 100,000 in prize money, on Sunday July 29.

Back to basics
Olympic Medalist Michel Vaillancourt, well versed in the Bromont site, which saw his equestrian performances in 1976, will design the final Grand Prix course. Vaillancourt, who won the Individual Silver Medal at the Montreal Olympic Games, will design all courses for the events in the International ring at the Bromont Equestrian show.

International Bromont promises an unforgettable 2012 edition with five FEI events, the return of the Royal Canin Challenge on both Sundays, as well as its two new events. For more details on the programme, visit our Internet site at
